Community Gardens are places where people come together and grow fresh food, to learn, relax and make new friends

Danawa at Spring Creek Community Garden Inc. is located at the gateway to the Great Ocean Road in Torquay, at Spring Creek Reserve.

We are made up of community members, young and old, who come together at the garden to grow food and cultivate the garden, and to share their knowledge and each other’s company.

We grow food in shared and private allotments based on organic gardening principles while recognising the cultural significance of the site to Wadawurrung people.

We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people as the traditional custodians of this land, caring for it for thousands of years until present day.

We acknowledge the suffering and terrible impacts that colonisation has brought to the Wadawurrung land and people. With gratitude we give thanks to Danawa on Wadawurrung country as our space to connect with each other, with the earth, to breathe deeply and share knowledge.

We pay our respects to the Wadawurrung elders, past present and emerging.
